I really appreciated Vice-President J.D., Vance's speech before the NATO leaders, particularly his exhortation for religious freedom. However, he left out a crucial missing aspect: freedom of CHRISTIAN religious freedom. Throughout Europe and the US, Islam has been given virtual free reign while Christianity remains the most persecuted major religion in the world, even though it was and is the foundation of Western society, and morality itself. It has been essentially sidelined, marginalized and attacked throughout Europe, Scandinavia, Canada, and especially violently in Africa, albeit a bit less intensively in the US.
Christianity is attacked by Islamists, atheists, Leftists -- including many who pretend and suborn Christianity in their lives, such as LGBTQ-alphabet activists, and other opportunists, but we remain too timid to call out our oppressors as such. The "other side" sees no benefit in playing by "nice guy" rules, other than what is necessary for public consumption and to deflect attention from their own subversive activities.
I am not a "theocrat" in the sense of having any particular, rigid religious doctrine being "the law of the land" because that sort of power will only be used wrongly by ambitious, evil, and morally corrupt humans, as history has proven time and again. And in the Christian Church in general, many denominations have been (and always will eventually be) infiltrated by some of those named anti-biblical antagonists. But I do stand for and in defense of respectful and protected worship, and the free and peaceful exercise of the faith, including public prayer.
