My Bible Verse of The Day - 3-19-25

Isaiah 48:10 (NKJV) 10 Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

God’s word frequently likens our lives to precious metals, which are more pure when purified by fire.

The fire referred to in these references is the trials and tribulations that we face from time to time.

These times of pressure and difficulty squeeze us. And in the process, as we allow God to walk us through them, the squeezing pressure that we experience causes the impurities in us to be forced out.

God uses these times to cleanse us.

No one likes trials. But they will surely come regardless of our preferences. God’s word tells us this repeatedly.

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Jesus told us to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world.

But His word also tells us more!

Romans 5:3-4 (NKJV) 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

These same trials and tribulations are good for us, producing perseverance, character, and hope.

Nothing that is painful ever feels good while we are experiencing it. But when the pain and struggle is past, we can see the benefits more clearly.

Let us glory in (embrace) trials with a different attitude and a Biblical point of view that allows God to use them to refine us as gold refined in the fire.
