G.K. Chesterton observed that 'When men choose not to believe in God, they do not thereafter believe in nothing, they then become capable of believing in anything.' If God is absent then it stands to reason there is no moral knowledge and, therefore, no means to differentiate between an imperfect republic and a perfectly despotic regime. That is our problem at hand in public education. Thankfully, it is not so in The White House.
