The Children of Israel are God's chosen, they are rewarded like no other people and held to account like no other people. This places human suffering into another category when God does it for our own good. Of course we hate it, but who can stop it? And the final outcome, based on your faith or your doubt, is exactly what the doctor ordered after all. Life is funny that way, that even without the bad events, life is often incomplete. And the present is a compilation of every event and choice good or bad in each person's life. But do not think that God hates Israel's children as they are the children of Abraham and as such, they are the promise to Abraham that his seed will be as the sands of the ocean. And that the Father loves us even when we go against him, but that in repentance, we always return. This is the imperfect nature of man. And the perfect patience of a loving yet stern Father who holds your very existence according to his perfect will.
