Marine dynamos are mostly three-phase synchronous dynamos. According to the dynamo set, it can be divided into three types: gas dynamo, steam turbine dynamo and diesel dynamo. In some large ships and some ships, steam turbine dynamos or gas turbine dynamos are used. Medium speed diesel dynamos are generally used on ships. Other ships use low-speed shaft dynamos, most of which are of medium capacity. What are the daily maintenance tasks for marine dynamos?
1. General maintenance
In order to ensure the normal operation of the marine dynamo, there should be no accumulation of water, oil and dirt around it, and no corrosive gas, so as not to damage the dynamo winding insulation.
While preventing moisture and dust, pay attention not to affect the normal ventilation and cooling of marine dynamos. Always clean the dust and dirt in the vents and keep them unobstructed. The temperature of the cooling air should not be too low to avoid condensation on the windings and other conductive parts.
For marine dynamos that stop running for a short time for some reason, the slip ring does not need to be wrapped for protection, but insulating cardboard, paraffin paper or asphalt paper should be placed between the brush and the slip ring to prevent the brush from being brushed on the surface of the slip ring. -Spots are formed on the surface.
If the machined surface of the marine dynamo is rusted due to oil or paint peeling off, it should be derusted in time and painted with anti-rust paint.
2. Precautions for disassembly and assembly of marine dynamos
The method of disassembly and assembly of marine dynamos is roughly the same as that of asynchronous motors. However, due to the heavy weight of the dynamo, care should be taken not to damage it during disassembly and assembly.
When removing the end cover, be careful not to damage the stator coil protruding from the surface of the base.
When taking out the rotor of a marine dynamo, a cardboard should be placed between the stator and rotor of the motor to prevent damage to the iron core and windings.
When tying the rotor with steel cables, the steel cables must not touch the rotor journal, phoenix fans, collector slips, and the lead wires of changing hands. The place where the rope is tied must be padded with wood or rubber.
3. Drying of dynamo
The newly installed marine dynamos should generally be dried before operation. If the insulation resistance meets the requirements, drying is not necessary, but the load within 24 hours of the start of operation should preferably not exceed 50% of the rated capacity.
When the marine dynamos in operation are stopped for maintenance or out of service for more than the specified limit, and the insulation resistance is lower than the specified value, they must be dried. If it is determined that the surface of the marine dynamo is damp, you can use the load drying method for drying.
