Fighting for Justice in Politics promotes the Gospel of Christ- godly Politics means more people Saved. God wants and commands all people to do and promote Justice, fight evil, rescue victims of crimes and preach the gospel while you are doing that.

Amen to that about Jeremiah and learning from him and Israel.

I love to quote or refer to Jeremiah 22 very often to believers and other people to show and prove that God cares about ALL People and Rulers promoting Justice in government and society.

Many believers and pastors preach that the only thing we should do and live for is to preach the gospel and getting involved in other things (like politics) is worldly and taking us away from preaching the gospel.

#1- I have been very involved in politics since around 1980 and especially 1984 and after. When I met with many believers who were fighting for godly government and Freedom and Liberty, they were very evangelistic and politics would create more chances of giving the gospel to people. We would meet lots of people, including Rulers and Candidates and we would in natural talk, tell them about the Bible, gospel, and give them gospel tracts. My brother and I met the candidate for Governor of Florida, Martinez, and we evangelized him for a long time and he liked it, and we got to preach him the gospel because we decided to get in politics and campaign for good people. Martinez won and he was Governor for 4 years of Florida.

So the gospel was greatly increased, and more government people were likely saved or became spiritual , which helped preserve the freedom to preach the gospel and live for Christ, all BECAUSE BELIEVERS GOT INVOLVED IN POLITICS AS GOD HAS COMMANDED. (As 1 Timothy 2:1-4 says, God wants ALL RULERS TO BE SAVED AND BORN AGAIN AND GODLY)

But Jeremiah 22 is super clear God wants ALL PEOPLE and all Rulers in authority to promote Justice and godly government that punishes wicked doers and protects righteous people of society, and rescues those victims of criminals- that is what THE LORD SAYS- It says 3 times this is what the LORD SAYS AND COMMANDS.

In fact it even says in 22:15-16 that the ONLY PEOPLE WHO KNOW GOD (in a loving fellowship basis) ARE THE ONES WHO GET INVOLVED IN POLITICS AND GODLY GOVERNMENT / SOCIETY AND CARE ABOUT HELPING VICTIMS OF CRIMINALS AND STOPPING EVIL IN GOVERNMENT AND THE NATION.

SO ONLY THE BELIEVERS WHO LIVE FOR CHRIST, PREACH THE GOSPEL AND FIGHT FOR GODLY GOVERNMENT IN POLITICS ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO KNOW GOD, SAYS THE LORD.

(and this applies, as you wrote, not just to Israel, but to ALL GOVERNMENTS AND NATIONS, because God wants all Rulers to do good, justice and punish evil [Romans 13]. If one says this is only for Israel, then they are saying God does not give a rip or care at all if any Gentile government can do any evil they want, including murdering millions of people, raping them, and God could not care less about that. God does not command they do justice. What a silly, illogical and evil idea for anyone to say that.)

Jeremiah 22:1-5:

1 This is what the LORD says: "Go down to the palace of the king of Judah and announce this word there. 2 You are to say: Hear the word of the LORD, king of Judah, you who sit on the throne of David—you, your officers, and your people who enter these gates. 3 This is what the LORD says: Administer justice and righteousness. Rescue the victim of robbery from the hand of his oppressor. Don't exploit or brutalize the alien, the fatherless, or the widow. Don't shed innocent blood in this place. 4 For if you conscientiously carry out this word, then kings sitting on David's throne will enter through the gates of this palace riding on chariots and horses—they, their officers, and their people. 5 But if you do not obey these words, then I swear by Myself"—this is the LORD's declaration—"that this house will become a ruin."

(It sure sounds like God really cares about politics in those verses!!!)

----------------------------------

Jeremiah 22:15-16:

15 Are you a king because you excel in cedar?

Your own father [KING JOSIAH], did he not eat and drink?

    He administered justice and righteousness,
then it went well with him.

16 He took up the case of the poor and needy,
    then it went well.
IS THIS NOT WHAT IT MEANS TO KNOW ME?
          This is the LORD's declaration
. [HCSB]

The Lord says that if someone knows Him that he will promote justice, defend the cause of the poor and needy (i.e., Defend their rights against evil people). Therefore, if someone does not defend people’s rights then they do not know the Lord. They are not really walking and obeying the Lord with a true heart of love and faith.

God also says we as believers can gain great REWARDS FOR GETTING IN POLITICS TO FIGHT FOR JUSTICE AND RESCUE VICTIMS OF CRIME

Proverbs 24:11-12:

11 Rescue those being led away to death;
hold back those staggering toward slaughter.

12 If you say, "But we knew nothing about this,"
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who guards your life know it?
Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?

Here are just a few other verses saying same (only a small portion of all verses same)

Bible Verses on God commanding Justice and to Punish Evil Doers and Purge evil

Proverbs 31:8-9:

8 Open your mouth for the mute, For the rights of all the unfortunate.
9Open your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy. [NASB]

--------------------------------------------

God commands the people and the government rulers to defend people’s rights in

Psalm 82:3-4:

3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.  4Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. [KJV]

3 Provide justice for the needy and the fatherless; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. 4 Rescue the poor and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked." [HCSB]

Jeremiah 5:28-29:

28 and have grown fat and sleek.
       Their evil deeds have no limit;
they do not plead the case of the fatherless to win it,
they do not defend the rights of the poor.

29 Should I not punish them for this?"
         declares the LORD.
       "Should I not avenge myself
on such a nation as this?

Deut. 16:20

20 Pursue Justice, Justice, so that you may live, and you may possess the land that the LORD your God is giving you.

Jesus promised that if his children cry for justice, God will answer them and provide soon:

Luke 18:6-8

6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Proverbs 29:7:

7 The righteous care about justice for the poor,

but the wicked have no such concern.

So any believer who does not care about Justice in society and government is wicked per God.

I know you great people at GES do care about Justice and the Gospel, so blessings.

(I wanted to shoot down a common false teaching by many believers and pastors who say getting in politics (even for biblical reasons) is evil and a waste of time, but nothing could be farther from the truth. Godly politics promotes the gospel like crazy, just as the Founding Fathers believers got involved in politics and their work caused the greatest expansion of the gospel around the world in history).
