Other measures the developer might be looking at as punishments for RWT activities are OSRS Gold expected to consist of wealth removal - basically removing ill-gotten gains from accounts at the server level, as well as potential bans.
RuneScape's PvP feature, known as the Duel Arena, will also have more strict rules enforced. Jagex declares that the feature "has been a trigger for this toxic behaviour" and that 38 per cent in all suspensions for RWT activities up to now originate from this aspect of the game. It says that already amounts to "thousands of bans every month".
This is why the developer seems to be taking the nuclear option, saying "we're considering in the future to take through the Duel Arena out of RuneScape entirely." In the meantime the game will take "some small-scale actions" to clean up PvP "until our development teams are able to deliver a major update that fully takes over the Duel Arena next year."
These will include a cap to the total amount GP or gold point which players can stake on an event at the Duel Arena. Players will be able to place bets "no less than 50m GP for each duel". Other measures haven't been described as of yet.
Jagex says that "a brand new game that will become part of an ongoing Elder God Wars storyline" will replace Duel Arena by the time 2022 begins No further details are available yet.
While the impact of these modifications remains to be seen but they are one of the most effective measures any studio has taken to combat external abuse of its systems in pursuit of real-world monetary gain. If successful, similar strategies are likely to be implemented across the MMO space in future.
Jagex recently announced, after 18 years as the PvP battlefield, Duel Arena will be going away from RuneScape and a new zone to be created cheap rs07 gold. RuneScape is set to launch Het's Oasis featuring a brand-new environment, new methods of acquiring skills and two mini-quests available to play.
