Genshin Impact: How to Defeat the Hydro Hypostasis (Extreme) in Scherzo of the Rippling Pool

genshin impact is an open world adventure game with simple operation and diverse styles, in which everyone can become a god

While most of Genshin Impact’s events are a walk in the park, some of them present a worthy challenge for veteran players with some really difficult bosses. The latter is the case for Hypostatic Symphony, which puts you against stronger versions of the usual Hypostasis that get stronger over time, encouraging you to end the battle as soon as possible.

The third entry in this new edition follows the trend to a tee by throwing another very annoying cubic enemy at us with the HydroHypostasis. There are a few more options on how to deal with it this time, so let’s check those out.

Genshin Impact Hydro Hypostasis Extreme Difficulty Guide

The Extreme challenge is available after completing the Standard and Fearless courses. Extreme doesn’t give any rewards for itself, so be warned beforehand. You’re only doing it for the thrill of the battle, so if that’s not your thing, don’t bother with it.

Special Rules:
  • Opponent’s HP and ATK are increased; droplets spawn more frequently and increase the boss’ elemental resistance

  • Limited to 3 Dissonances

  • Its ATK will increase after 120s, and continues to increase for each 40s passed

Team suggestion:

Zhongli, Ganyu, Rosaria, Bennett

Dissonance: Icy Mode

Food: Jade Parcels, Golden Crab, Sticky Honey Roast, Frosting Essential Oil

Ganyu takes two Charged shots for killing water droplets, but you can speed things up with her Burst. Hydro’s biggest problem is how little it exposes itself compared to other Hypostasis. You have to time your shots accordingly to their patterns so you won’t waste any time. If you see any health particle floating toward the boss, run to grab it as soon as possible.

Save your Dissonance for when the boss uses the spinning attack as it stays exposed for a long time during that move. Activate the Dissonance before unleashing all of the Bursts at once. Place Zhongli’s pillar near it as the Atk bonus from Millelith (if you have it equipped) makes a huge difference.

Ayaka is the obvious other prime DPS option here, and her quick Bursts make her a better option overall. The same suggested team is a good call, and Shenhe’s an even better choice if you have her. You need to burn it down quickly during the exposed moments, otherwise, the Atk bonus will quickly overwhelm you.

While Electro teams are tempting with the Thunderous Chorus Dissonance, you need to deal with the Droplets consistently, so Cryo’s still a must. Rosaria and Diona’s Burst will always be good ways of dealing with that.
