Diablo 4 may have a 'pinnacle boss' supposed to have been your character's final challenge

The endgame of Diablo 4 Gold sure does seem like it includes a lot of MMO dailies in disguise(opens in new tab), although not to worry: Blizzard has stated the latest incarnation of their action RPG was not designed to devour your whole actual life. After all, that is what World of Warcraft is perfect for.

Diablo 4

In an organization interview quoted by our colleagues at GamesRadar(opens in new tab), associate game director Joe Piepiora asserted Diablo 4 "is not supposed to have been played forever" and, while you will see harder challenges to manage once you hit level 100, "this is content where you will be pushing yourself to observe how far you are able to take your build, instead of trying to reach some endless grind of rewards in the future beyond level 100."

Eventually, when you've finished the campaign to unlock the capstone dungeon, finished the capstone dungeon to unlock the following world tier difficulty setting, and then the following, and so the one next, in addition to spending glyphs to repeat tweaked versions from the dungeons called "nightmare dungeons", collecting bounties on activities passed out by a cursed tree, and battling through hillside regions to gather shards to invest on hillside caches (there will always be shards), you will be ready to manage the final, final boss.

"At level 100, we all do have a pinnacle boss encounter we would like players to interact with which has been balanced to ensure that it's extraordinarily, extraordinarily challenging," Piepiora said. "Players that reach level 100 will have an extremely hard time on this boss encounter." It's a method of giving players a supreme goal, he continued.

"That's the purpose, would be to say, 'I have managed to get an incredibly powerful character build together. This is my capstone, this is actually the goal that I have for myself for a period of time after I've reached level 100'. You know, this is the aspirational piece we would like players to chase. There are cosmetic things, and there are other rewards you are able to get from that encounter, but it is not about getting good gear at that time. Like, that's the purpose of obtaining the gear, would be to fight that one boss."

Piepiora neglected to say who this pinnacle boss is going to be, however. Maybe the ultimate, ultimate boss fight of Diablo 4 is against four Diablos all at one time? Or perhaps Blizzard will require a leaf from Wolfenstein 3D's book, and players may have to fight Lilith again, only inside a mech suit. Who can say?

Those who prefer their video games to become endless Sisyphean treadmills have nothing to fret about, obviously. Since Diablo 4 is going to be a live-service game filled with seasonal updates and battle passes, you will be able to begin a new character each season while you did in Diablo 3 and slog the right path to level 100 and beyond once again. Doesn't that seem like fun?

You can try cheap Diablo 4 gold on your own during the following playtest, a server slams running from May 12 through May 14, ahead of their final release on June 6.
