The CBSE Class 10, Class 12 Board Exams 2021 will start from May 4, 2021, till June 14, 2021.
Request for Change in Centre
Since many people have moved to another city or to their native during lockdown due to the outbreak of COVID-19; it was difficult for several students to appear for the exam from the school or examination centre allotted.
Such students were given the benefit of changing their practical examination centre or theory or both with a prior request to their school by March 25. The only restrictions were that if student requests for change of both centres (practical and theory), both will be changed to one city; 2 separate centres were not allowed.
Reduction of Syllabus by 30%
The CBSE school board exams will be based on only 29 main subjects for Class 10 and Class 12. CBSE will not hold board exams for the rest of the subjects and instructions for their marking, the assessment will be issued by school authorities.
Relief to Covid Positive Students
CBSE has advised students who have been tested Covid positive to take rest and be in isolation at home or if any family member of students is reported Covid positive, the school will conduct the practice of such candidates in consultation with the concerned Regional Office by 11th June 2021.
However, the options like a second attempt or even a third attempt for students will prove beneficial for those suffering from COVID. Schools are asked to strictly adhere to the guidelines provided for the smooth conduction of examination.
Reporting of COVID Students
- While uploading the marks of COVID students against their “C” may be uploaded/posted on the link for uploading of marks.
- For students who have requested for centre change; “T” will be mentioned against their name while uploading their marks.
- Marks of candidates who have requested for re-conduct of examination will be sent to concerned Regional Offices and a sealed copy of the Award List may be retained by the school for any emergency.
- The envelope will be sealed with the signature of the External Examiner and Observer.
- “NOT TO BE OPENED” will be clearly mentioned on the Envelope while sending marks to the Regional Office.

They can access the portal on the official website of CBSE through their credentials which will be shared in advance by a school (Students can contact their school teachers in case if they have not received the credentials).
