Last Friday, Primary 1 was tasked with making and designing a larger and more comfortable teddy bear bed. The children worked in teams, and each of them used their unique skills to measure their abilities and materials to successfully complete the project. Ben usually sleeps in a double bed, but his long torso often makes him appear to be several inches longer. Therefore, naturally, his sleeping habits must be changed to accommodate his new long bed. I'm sure you understand where this is going and which is why it took an experienced seamstress for us to get it set up.

The last thing I wanted was to call all my friends to come up to us and showcase their beautiful creation. We are very fortunate to live in an area where there is no shortage of skilled seamstresses. The boys and girls have done an amazing job. So, thanks to everyone who helped make this beautiful comfortable bed for our 2 year old.

Ben's double bed has a one-inch-thick headboard. It also has four-inch-thick sides that are attached to the top of the bed. There is also a footrest made of the same material as the headboard and attached to the edge of the bed. In addition, there is what I would call a "hanging shelf" attached to the opposite end of the bed that protrudes several inches beyond the edge of the bed. This shelf is made of solid wood, but has wooden legs at each end that allow it to be suspended from a metal spout.

When the work was completed, it was time to cover the newly created creation with some kind of sheet. I opted for a quilted bedspread. I think it worked out well! I was worried that the quilted linen would make the mattress too warm, but that didn't happen. In fact, it was even cooler than my other 2-year-old cover.

Now, if you're wondering where you can get such a set at a reasonable price, I have an idea. I'm a big housewife, and when I get a new bed to use as a guest bed at a friend's house, I don't just throw it in the washer / dryer. Instead, I tune in a few days ahead and go through. One of the things I took off my old mattress was the washer and dryer, which probably cost me a lot of money at the time.

I just took apart the old mattress and attached the new ones. Everything fit like a glove. Here's how to find a comfortable crib for your toddler. What are you waiting for? Connect to the Internet and start searching!
