As believers, we often go through experiences where we feel quite distant from God. What we don’t realize is that it is during these times that God calls us closer to Himself. Let us look into the many ways God calls and how we should respond to them.

As believers, we often go through experiences where we feel quite distant from God. What we don’t realize is that it is during these times that God calls us closer to Himself. The Almighty lends us His hand and invites us to form a much deeper relationship with Him. There are many ways in which God extends His hand, but they all serve the common goal of drawing us nearer and changing our lives for the better.

In this blog, we will take a deep look into the many ways of God’s calling and how we should respond to them.

Through Challenges

Have you ever wondered why the hospital church is always full and not the one near your home?

One of the ways in which God calls us closer is by posing challenging circumstances. It is during these times of excruciating pain and hardships that we often turn to God and seek His comfort. Enduring such experiences sometimes serves as catalysts for spiritual growth. When we go through struggles, God reminds us of His presence and love, which ultimately refines our character.

In Solitude, We Remember Him

Have you ever wondered why prisoners become so much closer to God despite the heinous crimes they might have committed?

Another way of God’s calling is through stillness and solitude. When we are busy with our lives and hectic schedules, we often forget to take out the time to express gratitude. By intentionally creating a silent space, we can allow God to speak directly to our hearts.

It is in these moments of complete silence that God enlightens our souls and guides us to the straight path. We might even feel and experience His Holy presence in such times.

Unexpected Encounters or “Divine Appointments”

You might have heard of incidents or “divine interventions” that simply strengthen your belief. We already know that God works in mysterious ways. Sometimes, when we are really confused, He redirects our paths through advantageous circumstances that provide us with much-needed clarity.

By giving attention to His hidden signs, we will immediately recognize such encounters as invitations from God and become closer to His plans for us.

The Divine Scripture – God’s Word

Another way in which God calls His children closer is through His Holy Word – the Bible. Seeking truth by immersing ourselves in the Word opens the path to receiving divine guidance.

The Bible acts as a complete guide to how we should live our lives. By reflecting on the characters of David and Moses, we can open ourselves to divine guidance and wisdom.

We need to understand that God speaks to us through His Word, and it is the only way to realize the pointed direction and receive divine encouragement.

How We Can Actively Respond to His Guidance

The simple knowledge that God calls His children closer through different means is enough of a fact for us believers to take comfort in. It could be through difficult challenges, solitude, divine appointments, or His Holy Word; God is always willing to lend His hand to guide us.

Opening our hearts and looking for Divine signs will help us respond to His call and draw us closer to Him.
