As Christians we believe in the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. A Jehovah Witness acknowledge that Jehovah is Father God. They believe Jesus was a created being and not God the Son. My Goal in putting this together is to help them see through scripture that the savior Jesus Christ is God the Son. This is very important because believing in a different Jesus will not save you.
2 Corinthians 11:2-4, 2I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.
Galatians 1:6-8, 6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!
I would recommend e-Sword. https://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html You can download the bible for free. What I love about them is when you click on a bible verse and then hit the compare tab at the top it will show you every word or group with the corresponding Hebrew or Greek definition for that word, along with the Strong Concordance number. When I have Jehovah in parenthesis below it means the actual word is Jehovah even though some of the translations have Lord or God.
Jehovah God is interchangeable with Jesus
Example #1. To God every knee shall bow and tongue shall swear allegiance. Isaiah is saying it is Jehovah and Philippians is saying Jesus is the one to whom every knee should bow and tongue confess.
Isaiah 45:21-23, Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the LORD (Jehovah)? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me. 22“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. 23 By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: ‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’
Cross reference – The God Isaiah is talking about is explained in
Philippians 2:9-11, Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Example #2. Jehovah is calling his redeemer Jehovah. The first and the last Alpha and Omega are used for both Jesus and God.
Isaiah 44:6, "Thus says the LORD (Jehovah), the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD (Jehovah) of hosts: 'I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.
See also Isaiah 48:12
Revelation 1:17-18, When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man And He placed His right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
Revelation 22:13, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
Revelation 1:8, "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
Example #3. Isaiah says Jehovah God made all things and John said Jesus made all things.
Isaiah 44:24, Thus says the LORD , your Redeemer who formed you from the womb: “I am the LORD (Jehovah), who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who by Myself spread out the earth.
John is talking about Jesus
John 1:3, All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.
Example #4. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath in Mark and Jehovah is in Deuteronomy.
Mark 2:28,Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.
Deuteronomy 5:14, But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD (Jehovah) thy God.
Jehovah is speaking and referencing himself as Jesus.
Example #1. In Zechariah Jehovah is speaking in the first person. He says he was priced at 30 pieces of silver. Matthew says they paid 30 pieces of silver for Jesus.
Zechariah 11:12-13 - In verse 4 it says God (Jehovah) is speaking. 12 And they weighed out as my wages thirty pieces of silver. 13 Then the LORD (JEHOVAH) said to me, Throw it to the potter the lordly price at which I was priced by them.
Cross Reference with Matthew 26:14-15, Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests 15and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?” And they paid him thirty pieces of silver.
Example #2. Jehovah is speaking in the first person again in Zechariah saying they will look on me, the one they have pierced. John is saying a soldier pierced Jesus’ side and scripture was fulfilled.
Zechariah 12:1,Verse 1 says Jehovah God is speaking. "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.
Cross ref with John 19:33-37, 33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.35 He who saw it has borne witness—his testimony is true, and he knows that he is telling the truth—that you also may believe. 36 For these things took place that the Scripture might be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken.” 37 And again another Scripture says, “They will look on him whom they have pierced.”
Example #3. Jehovah is saying the messenger will prepare the way before him and in Matthew John the Baptist is the messenger who has prepared the way before Jesus.
Malachi 3:1, “Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts. The Lord of Hosts is Jehovah of hosts.
Cross ref with Matthew 11:9-11, What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. 10 This is he of whom it is written, “‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’ 11 Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist.

Psalm 110:1, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Jesus claimed to be God
The Jews wanted to stone Jesus because he was claiming to be God.
John 10:30-33, I and the Father are one.” The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
I Am - In Exodus 3 When Moses wanted the name of God, Jehovah God calls himself, I Am.
Exodus 3:14, God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
Jesus calls himself, I Am
John 8:57-59, So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
- John 8:24, For unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.
Jesus was Divine when He was on earth and He is Divine now. He has all the attributes of Divinity. Matthew 18:20 shows He is omnipresent. Acts 3:14, says He is Holy. John 1:3 Colossians 1:16 He is the Creator. Matthew 28:81, He is all powerful. Luke 5:22, Jesus knows your thoughts. All these Divine attributes apply to God, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Worship belongs only to God
Exodus 34:14, Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
Jesus backs this up in Luke.
Luke 4:8,You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.
Since Jesus is divine we should see worship in scripture associated with Him.
Jesus is worshiped
The wise men worshiped Jesus
Matthew 2:2, is referring to the wise men. It says, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For, we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
The disciples worshiped Jesus

God said let the all the angels worship Jesus
Hebrews 1:6, And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."
Jesus is God!
If, you choose not to believe this, you do not believe the Jesus of the Bible.
As Paul said above. Colossians 2:8-9 - See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.
Most of the false teachings that Jesus is not God come from the Jehovah Witnesses. When a Jehovah Witness comes to your door please consider answering the door, but ONLY if you are strong in your faith and know you will not be persuaded or moved from the truth. You don't have to know all the answers! They are well trained to reason away common questions. Use this article to point out areas where it says Jesus is Jehovah. They tend to trust the watchtower society and their articles as God's word. Point out the in discrepancies and changes in their doctrine over the years especially with the worshiping of Jesus. They have many false doctrines but the belief that Jesus is not God is a salvation issue.
Here is a good article that talks about how Jehovah Witnesses used to worship Jesus until 1954. JWfacts Their teachings have changed throughout the years. God's word does not change.
Deuteronomy 4:2, You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it.
They are lost souls willing to come into your home to talk about God. This is a great opportunity to minister to them the truth. It may be scary for them to embrace it, but plant those seeds of faith while uprooting the lies the enemy has told them. Be gentle, it's hard for anyone to come to terms and realize they have been believing a lie. There are articles, books, websites, and YouTube videos out there on how to minister to Jehovah Witnesses. Ask God for his help and wisdom in reaching out to them. They need God and the truth just as much as you do.
