Personal ethics provide enough information for a really good term paper.  More importantly, the topic and all the sub topics therein are extremely relevant to just about any field you can possibly imagine.  When writing term papers on personal ethics, you get to give your own interpretation and opinion, which some students greatly prefer.  Remember, however, that these are not just opinion based term papers.  As mentioned, the core of the college term paper involves presenting factual information.  So, for instance, you cannot simply write a paper about how you think abortion is wrong, without providing sources that back up your opinion.  However, if you are a pre med student, a good term paper could involve your feelings on abortion and how you would deal with a patient who wanted one from you.
