The Ultimate Sacrifice....

Shalom Kol, Baruch El Elohai!

And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness, Vayikra ~ Leviticus 16:21.

And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands, Mark 14:65.

In Hebrew there is a word we all have overlooked and one that is so extremely important, it is “Semikhah.” This Semikhah is a sacred act that had to take place before a sacrifice could be offered up for the sins of the one offering it, or before the scapegoat on Yom Kippur could take away the sins of the nation. What was involved was “physical contact.” In other words, the Jewish Priest or the one offering the sacrifice had to make physical contact with the sacrifice. He had to physically lay his hands on the very head of the sacrifice.

As it is written. Aharon or Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess upon it all the sins and iniquities of the children of Yisrael. It was only after the Semikhah was performed could the scapegoat take away the nations sins, or the sacrifice be offered up as an atonement…

Now, I know you know where I am going with this, but allow me to share, Mashiach Yeshua is the sacrifice and the atonement. However, there is a caveat to this, before the sacrifice can die for chet or sin, the Semikhah must be performed, so who was it that offered Him up, and that delivered Him to His Death? The Priest… So in accordance with the Semikhah, the priest had to make physical contact with the sacrifice, “Yeshua HaMashiach!” With their hands. So it was was recorded that after condemning Yeshua to death, the priest began to strike Him repeatedly with their hands. So as we know, for the Semikhah to be accomplished, they had to physically touch the head of the sacrifice with their hands, and so it was further recorded that the priest specifically struck his panim or face….His head.

Once again, it was recorded that they struck His head with their palms, there is even a rabbinical writing that states that when more than one person offers a sacrifice, they must all perform the Semikhah taking turns touching the head of the sacrifice, so in accordance with the Semikhah, it was only after hands were laid on its head, that the sacrifice, “Yeshua,” could be led away to be slain. And, what happened in earthly realms is a symbol of what took place in heavenly realms….Which brings up the question, who was ultimately doing the Semikhah? It was HaShem or our Abba Father who performed the Semikhah, He placed yours and mine sins specifically upon Yeshua specifically.

Think about this…at Yeshua’ death, those sins are gone and can never come back… Why? Because the Semikhah had been performed! There is more to this, as we know, that in the time of the second Temple, on Yom Kippur, the Holiest day of the year for Jews, a scarlet cord, representing the sins of the people, was tied to the temple doors, and when the ordinances of Yom Kippur were completed, the cord on the Temple doors would turn from scarlet to white, as it says in The Holy writ, though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow..

Every year this happened, that is until….? “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Elohim: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool,” Yeshua’ayhu ~ Isaiah 1:18. This phenomenon would take place every year on Yom Kippur or the Day of Atonement to signify that the atonement had been completed….and accepted.

But then something happened, as I alluded to prior, the Rabbis wrote that a certain point in the first century a sign appeared in the Temple that signaled a change in cosmic proportions… As they write, the cord stopped changing from scarlet to white, which had a dramatic effect and meaning… This was a sign that the sacrifice was no longer accepted? Or did it mean, that is was no longer central to the forgiveness of sins.. The answer of course was yes and why? Because, the final atonement had been offered up, Yeshua HaMashiach was the final atonement, once and for all…..

Now when do you suppose this stopped, when did it stop changing from Scarlet to white? Once again we turn to the writings from the Rabbis, they record it began about forty years before the destruction of the Second Temple. When was the Temple destroyed? 70 AD, when the Roman General Titus marched through the Streets of Yerusuhalayim..and destroyed the Temple and it was estimated 1.6 million Jews died in defense of their Holy Temple.

I digress, which brings me back to the pivotal central point in human History, it was in 30AD which just happens to be the same time in History when Mashiach Yeshua came to Yerusuhalayim..to die as the final sacrifice for sin, moreover, let me share this with you:

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Yeshua Mashiach once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of G_d; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified, Hebrews 10:10-14. And this: Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Yeshua, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of G_d; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works, Hebrews 10-18-24.

You see as we read in the aforementioned passages, we are no longer saved by the sacrifices of the Temple or of Yom Kippur, but by the final atonement for chet or sins, the atonement of Mashiach Yeshua! And the Rabbis exactly pin point the time it took place, at the death of Yeshua, 40 years prior to the Temples destruction, furthermore, a sign of history written in scarlet that the final atonement for sins had indeed taken place, that the guilty have actually become innocent, and that El Elohai (which by the ways means The G_d of me), has indeed cleansed us of the past, and that our sins which were scarlet, have for real become white as snow…Blessings in His Holy Name to each and everyone!

Shalom Old Critter, mind of I call you OC? All by design, few may not know this, Caiaphas and Pilate died three years after the crucifixion of Yeshua , both committed Suicide... Up until this time, Pilate was a rising star in the Roman empire, both for his political and military prowess, Caiaphas having lost his political power and prestige tried to have his son installed as High priest, (being denied by the Romans) because they want a yearly revolving Priest Assigned, (for fear of another messiah gaining power with revolution on their minds) having lost everything, he took his life, similarly, Pilate's lot was also sealed, and having lost his ability to navigate the churning political tides, he took his life... The very thing the Jews believed for the qualifications for a Messiah or Mashiach is that there are three perquisite's, 1) Miracles, 2) Healing, 3) Military authority, 2 of these three Yeshua met without issues, the third, which they desired, Military prowess, (in reality the overthrow of the Roman Government) disqualified Yeshua as Mashiach in their eyes, but as we know, Yeshua will come back as a conqueror and the greatest Military General in world History... Blessings OC in Mashiach, Shalom Aleichem b' Yeshua, Peace be unto you in Yeshua :)
