Sample Collection:

• Gather your sample:This could be anything from a drop of pond water to a slice of plant tissue.
• Ensure cleanliness:Use clean tools and avoid contamination to prevent unwanted organisms from entering your sample.

Slide Preparation:

• Choose a slide:Use a clean microscope slide, which is a thin, flat piece of glass.  
• Place the sample:Carefully place your sample on the slide using tweezers, a pipette, or a toothpick.  
• Add a liquid medium (optional):For some samples, adding a drop of water or a special liquid medium can help preserve the specimen and improve visibility.  
• Apply a coverslip: Place a thin glass coverslip over the sample to flatten it and protect the microscope lens.  

Staining (Optional)
