Who are we?
Lets say what we are not.
We are not about organized, ritualized, industrialized religion. We do not post every Sunday at 11 am. We may not post for weeks. We may post every day.
We say what we are led to say, when we are led to say it. This reflects the values of the Society of Friends.
We do have a mission. We are here to educate believers. It’s a school of sorts.
We will challenge your beliefs. Why?
We want to force you to actually think about what you believe, and more importantly, why you believe it.
You may disagree with some of what you read. GOOD. This forces you to think, to sort out your own reasons for belief. The point is to learn.
The apostle Paul has cautioned us to ‘work out our own salvation with fear and trembling’. This speaks to our growth as believers, an refers to our changing views as we mature spiritually. It is also a warning. There are limits, and exceeding those limits may place you on the wrong path.
So, ‘study, to find yourself approved’.

Qualifications for Sainthood
When we trust Christ as our Savior, His righteousness is gifted to us.
1 Corinthians 1:1-9

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be called a saint? The Corinthian church struggled with all sorts of ungodly behaviors, yet Paul describes them as “those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling” (1 Cor. 1:2).

Sanctify means to set apart from common use to a sacred use. Throughout the Bible, God has sanctified days (such as the Sabbath), places (the tabernacle), things (the ark of the covenant), and people. A saint is simply a person whom God has set apart for His purposes. This means that every believer is a saint.

Before you were saved, your position relative to God was one of enmity (Romans 5:1. The moment you trusted Jesus as Savior, the Lord changed your position and set you apart for Himself. You were born again and are now His child. He forgave your sins and declared you righteous. A saint is not a perfect person but one who is in a right relationship with the heavenly Father. Although our sanctification is not predicated on good behavior, the Lord expects us to live in a manner that honors Him.

Just think—God set us apart for a sacred purpose. That means we are here to bring glory to Him. And He now calls us to live according to our new position in Christ.

A Prayer to Pray Continuously
Even in the Dark

Father,
Sometimes it feels like nothing’s changing.
The mountain doesn’t move.
The pain doesn’t ease.
The answers don’t come.

But still—we pray.

Not because we see the outcome,
but because we trust the One who holds it.

You told us to pray without ceasing.
(1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Not just when things are good.
Not just when we feel strong.
But when we’re weary.
When we’re waiting.
When all we have left is a whisper.

Because You are listening.

You hear the silent tears.
You see the clenched fists.
You count every cry as precious.
And not one prayer is wasted.

Even in the darkest hour,
You are near.
Even when hope is hanging by a thread,
You are working.

So we will not stop.
We will not give up.
We will not give in to fear, or silence, or despair.

We will pray in the hallway before the door opens.
We will pray at the grave, knowing You still bring life.
We will pray in the storm, trusting You still calm the sea.

Remind us, Lord, that prayer is not a last resort—
it is our greatest weapon.

And even when the words don’t come,
our groans rise like incense to Your throne. (Romans 8:26)

So give us the courage to keep going.
To speak life when all we see is death.
To pray bold prayers when our faith feels small.
To believe again—because You are still God.

In the name of Jesus,
our intercessor, our strength, our reason to hope,

Amen

Give me the gift of a clear mind, that I might hear the quiet voice of your Spirit. Help to massage away resentments and blame for things gone by, that would eat my energy and poison my mind; but instead, help me to look to the moment, to what I can do, to work for the future. And let me never become frustrated where I lack control of events, for you are in charge, not me; and I put my entire faith in your power, your knowledge, your plan for humanity.

You are my leader and my coach, Lord. I am on your team. Help me to keep this in mind for just today, in Christ’s name I pray,

Amen.

Is there no other way, Oh God,
Except through sorrow, pain and loss?
To stamp Christ's likeness on my soul,
No other way except the cross?

And then a voice stills all my soul,
That stilled the waves of Galilee,
“Cans’t thou not bear the furnace
If midst the flames I walk with thee?

I bore the cross, I know its weight,
I drank the cup I hold for thee.
Cans’t thou not follow where I lead?
I'll give thee strength, lean hard on Me.”
