The whole point of this writing is hoping to wake us up just enough to get our name written into the Lamb's book of life before we die. As we can see Lex Talionis would be a great thing if we had the heart to keep this law, but instead, we are against the leaders that want to keep us safe. We choose to drive them out with more force than God requires, oh but, Satan has his goal in sites too. The One world government will give each of us what we want. The saved will be gone to heaven and the lost will be left to fight for survival staying behind in a world that murders anyone we want too and be misled by the lies of Satan being as their king in person. To me, this is why Jesus said he will correct all paybacks with his perfect need of retaliation.
Psalms 139
9 Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God!
Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men.
20 For they speak against You wickedly;
Your enemies take Your name in vain.
21 Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.
I was wrong, it is going to take three post.
Is this why so many believers are accepting our end times are close at hand? lex talionis
Lex Talionis is a word Jesus, Obadiah and Moses either spoke or wrote about. It is the Greek word for payback equal to what evil has taken place. It was used when Moses wrote God's law we are all familiar with? An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. When God gave this law to Moses it wasn't to start trouble but to stop overdue retaliation from happening. Of course, the dead souls created their own meanings. 'See there, the God of the Old Testament is a vengeful bloodthirsty god that hates us all'. 'He had his prophet write to take revenge with anyone that harms you. The word used by Moses from God says not to take more revenge than what happened to you! Did the other person give you a black eye, then, if you have to retaliate then don't inflict more than you received. This is the explanation Jesus was giving the listeners during the Sermon on the Mt. If we return more than we received when would the end come? God is the perfect judge and will repay each eye for an eye and each tooth for tooth perfectly according to what each punishment deserves. - One more example of dead people is the way they love to twist words around, making them the way that sounds best for their needs. In Psalms 139 King David is giving praise to his God for a long time then it is as if the enemies of God overtook his mind? He mentions how he hates the things mankind does against his God. He mentions how evil and vile his enemies are. He went on to tell God that he hates his enemies with Perfect hatred of them because of their slanderous and evil ways. King David will one day rule on earth during the Millennium, after Jesus places his enemies underneath his feet. He is the only man I know of that God said 'he is after my heart'. King David used these words because he hated seeing his Lord being lied about and from watching how wrong evil treated others. But, King David did all this with perfect Love. A perfect love can't come from a human heart without the Holy Spirit being in control of our every minute. This was used by dead people back in his day. Being distorted to show their hatred for the Living God. Perfect love is written about in 1st Corinthians chapter 13 if we care to read it? Perfect is something many of us believe we have attained but boy are we the fool.
The old days haven't changed, just different dead people carrying out Satan's wishes. Do we feel duped, doesn't it make you mad; or do we honestly believe humans have the power to persuade the 'souls' of other people. If another human has us doing their bidding then it can only happen if they have more power than us. Since all humans have the same power as the next person, where is their power coming from?
Some of the people listening to Jesus in Matthew 5 were Pharisees. Or, as some call them, 'our Congress' today. They would read scripture from Obadiah and Moses in their temple but somehow were able to ignore its true meaning. Pharisees were the spiritual leaders controlling the population in their day. Since no prophet had lived in the past 400 years they had been having their way over the ruling class. Making up laws that helped them. Giving themselves glory from belonging to such high society. Ruling over all Jews but hating Samaritans and Gentiles. When they walked down the street they might have a bell attached so people would look to see who the important person was? They made sure to wear their outer coats in case they bumped into scummy, evil or dirty people, like you or me?. Lex Talionis fits these dead souls perfectly. Jesus said to beware of these types that come in sheep's clothing but in reality are wolves.
Pharisees would control the masses by their own made laws all too often. In Matthew 5 Jesus was speaking of such people as these. Those that will work hard at getting, then even harder at keeping what isn't theirs to start with. I believe we are living this way worldwide now? Not in every sector of our world but who isn't being taken advantage of today? Tax dollars are spent on who?
I am going to post this in two posts since it is so long.
Father today we need you more than ever to watch over your children, brothers, and sisters with Jesus Christ. Lord, please take this often used chapter from your word and make it renewing to our ears. Amen
Ephesians 2
Made Alive in Christ
2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
The first verse answers so many questions about this world. As for you? You were dead! Because of our transgressions and sins! In verse 2 Paul tells us when we were born again we acknowledged Jesus Christ as our Lord, this began the exact second of our rebirth. Until we accept Jesus we are following the ruler of the air.
Take their guns away! Keep abortion alive for the sake of women's freedom. (42 Million in 2019 alone) The church that allowed weapons in the house of God should have their tax status changed. Open the borders, we only have what God has given us, nothing belongs to us. The man that murdered the Jews in New York only needs help. He probably had a mother that didn't love him or a father that beat him. His issues are something society can fix if we get our priorities in order. If only our lawmakers would learn to get along they could work things out. They fight, connive, backstab, lie against each other while the people they work for are ignored. Really? Is that what we think about the dead people running Washington? These people are everywhere, not just our government. Principles, doctors, professors, lawyers, governors, husbands, wives; in every aspect of our society.
Dead people don't need more training, more Drs, more money, power, more insurance, homes or cars; they need Jesus. Paul is very plain in his words telling us what is wrong with these people is they are dead in their innermost area, their Heart, Soul, and Mind. Have you ever met a dead person with Jesus living inside of them? When people don't have the Holy Spirit living inside of them Paul is saying they can't understand how to get along. They are evil and following the ways of their god, Satan.
Romans 3
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
