The Post Falls Police arrested an Illegal Alien, Baraka Asaba, the suspect in the shooting last night in Post Falls.
He was also arrested by Border Patrol for a warrant for "Improper Entry by Alien"
POST FALLS POLICE INVESTIGATE DECEMBER 18TH 2020 SHOOTING
POST FALLS, IDAHO - On December 18, 2020 at approximately 7:34 pm, Post Falls Police Department officers responded to the area of Charleville Rd and Killdeer Ave for a shooting that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers found a male unconscious in a vehicle bleeding heavily from his leg. Officers immediately started providing emergency aid and applied a tourniquet to stop the male from bleeding out. The male was then transported by Kootenai County Fire and Rescue to Kootenai Health for treatment..
PFPD Officers and Detectives, with the assistance of the Coeur d'Alene Police Department, began a search for the shooter, who was reported to have fled on foot. The suspect, Baraka Asaba, a 24 year male from the country of the Congo, was located in Coeur d'Alene and arrested on one count of aggravated battery. He is being held at the Kootenai County Jail. Two firearms were recovered during the investigation.
This case remains under active investigation and further details will be released when available. At this time, the streets at the scene of the shooting have been reopened.
