We lost power around 2:15 this morning. It was 6 degrees outside in Garland Texas.
There were supposed to be "rolling outages." There weren't.
Power came back on at 7:30 AM and went out again at 9:30 AM.
Power was out until 3 PM this afternoon.
Ercot's web page said the widespread outages were due to "frozen wind turbines" (can you say "green energy?" and a lack of Natural Gas to power conventional generators (Texas has Natural Gas in abundance!).
If this is a sign of things to come we are in big trouble!
We are looking for temperatures to drop to zero tonight with another storm coming in Wednesday....
Our prayers are with those that find power necessary for survival.
