Welcome to Easter weekend.

As most disciples scattered, the women of Galilee stood as sentinels and witnesses. All the Gospels attest that Mary Magdalene was among the Galilean women who followed Jesus to Jerusalem and became an active witness of His Crucifixion.

By the time of His Crucifixion, Mary’s understanding of who Jesus was and what He taught was so deep that the threat of death or the shame associated with crucifixions could not pull her away. There is a direct correlation to the time we spend listening to His words and learning from Him to how close we are to Him.

Study Question - The day before at the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus had asked His disciples, “Could ye not watch with me one hour?” (Matthew 26:4. Would I be willing to watch with Him one hour? Would I be willing to stand by the foot of the Savior’s cross like Mary Magdalene? What is the equivalent in my life today of standing by the Savior’s cross or watching with Him for one hour? How can I always remember Him?
