Lovely North Alabama Lighthouse - Lake Guntersville
James W. Kennamer, a successful builder whose projects included the Lake Guntersville State Park lodge and Gunter's Landing golf course, began building his estate in 1963. The house eventually ballooned to 30 rooms and 18,000 square feet on a gated, four-acre peninsula.
But it was the addition of the lighthouse in 1999 that catapulted the Kennamer place into local lore. (Marcie Braden)
