There are some good cast iron recipe cookbooks out there, make sure you buy some cast iron cookbooks (buy used if you can find them, or new books.) and add them to your kitchen along with any other cookbooks that you may have in your household.
I would strongly recommend that people start up a household library shelving unit, and put cookbooks, canning books, and baking books on it. This way when harder times hit your area, your household will a great resource of books... so you can feed your family different food items that you are able to cook from those cookbooks.
