If your local second had store has a good supply of used board games, card games, and dice games... buy what you can.
Make sure you double check them over before you purchase them, so you if they are complete you know, and if they are missing some pieces you will know.
Some game pieces can be replaced like dice.
You can also replace missing cards, by photo copying the missing cards to a board game, from a complete game... so you can it complete and playable.
As for missing player tokens, I use toys or painted wooden cut dowels.
Once the games are complete and have their game's directions, they will be playable and will be enjoyed by anyone who plays the game.
You can always donate the games to other families if you have double games, or keep building up your garages as well.
Remember board games will be a great resource to have and enjoy during harder times.
