Over-sterilization has been a concern of mine ever since the growing threat of hospital-acquired viral and bacterial illnesses, and especially since the discovery of antibiotic resistence, both of which have been leading to "superbugs" as they call them. But what if, in the microbial world, there are checks and balances just like there is in the flora and fauna we can see with the naked eye? What if we could encourage the microbiomes we live in, to better manage themselves rather than wiping them out and calling them all BAD! BAD BUG! *shoots bleach, hydrogen peroxide and isopropyl alcohol at them!!!*

If we could encourage better microbial management, we might indeed have healthier living, working and learning environments around us.
