When running an errand one day, a sign at an intersection allowed turns only to the left or right. Interestingly, there was no reason why traffic could not have proceeded safely straight ahead, and in seeing that, it raised an interesting question about signs in and by the world that may direct us to go a way we may NOT want, or should, go.
There are many distractions that can easily mislead us off the “straight way” that leads to eternal life and instead mis-lead people to go on the wide path leading to destruction. (Matthew 7:13)
Instead, as today’s proverb wisely states we always need to continue looking straight ahead, staying on God’s straight path and not allowing ourselves to be misdirected off to the left or right.
Friend, life is about choices, and you are free to go in any direction or follow any sign you choose. The question we all must answer consciously or unconsciously is...
...what direction are you headed?
