Just when you think the modern Democrat Party can’t get any more absurd, they outdo themselves. While Cory Booker was busy filibustering absolutely nothing for over 24 hours, his own staffer—who also happens to be his bodyguard—was being arrested for illegally carrying a gun inside the Capitol. And how did this guy get past security? Booker himself personally escorted him around a Capitol Police checkpoint, bypassing all security measures. Apparently, gun crimes only matter when they’re politically useful. When one of their own is involved, Democrats in the Senate don’t even pretend to care. Instead, they spent the day applauding Booker’s meaningless rambling and feeding him scripted questions to stretch out his performance.
So, to summarize: Cory Booker talked for more than a day straight, accomplished absolutely nothing, and in the process helped a staffer commit a crime. And for this, he’s being hailed as a hero. You will not find a better snapshot of today’s Democrat Party than this. It’s all theater, all nonsense, all the time. Their approval ratings are in the gutter, but instead of doing anything remotely useful, they’re wasting time on pointless stunts while literally aiding and abetting criminal activity. The good news? Booker finally stopped talking. The bad news? People now have time to process the fact that he had absolutely nothing to say in the first place.
