If the sun is 93 million miles away as our science textbooks tell us, why would a difference of a couple hundred miles as a result of the earth's tilt, result in such a wide swing in temperature between summer and winter? Is that really reasonable? No, it is not. The reason the swing in temperature happens is that the sun is close, and is 32 miles in diameter, and it changes its course over the earth plane.
