Many German cities and towns now feature foreigners who terrorize the local populace, with some having dozens or even over 100 police encounters. The German city of Güstrow, in the eastern state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, can now add itself to this list. There, a 21-year-old Afghan is becoming a regular with police.
The climax to his numerous police encounters occurred on Monday and Tuesday of last week, when the police were called to deal with the man three times in less than 24 hours. However, the man is well-known to the police for various incidents even before last week.
The first incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. on Monday in an apartment building in Verbindungschaussee. The 21-year-old began damaging his own apartment building over a power and internet outage, which allegedly sent him into a rage. The man, who lives with his 23-year-old sister, had his own sister call the police on him.
