Why Are You Afraid?

Mark 4:35--40 NASB

35. On that day, when evening came, He said to them, "Let us go over to the other side."
36. Leaving the crowd, they too Him along with them in the boat, just a He was; and other boats were with Him.
37. And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up.
38. Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?'
39. And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Hush, be still." and the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.
40. And He said the them "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?'

Right now the world's thorn in the flesh is the coronal-virus. People are getting sick and passing away from it. And people are getting fearful, stressed, worrying, and just afraid. There are stay at home orders being put n place, because there is a need of social distancing. People are afraid because they feel afraid that they are powerless.

Like this world's thorn in the flesh, and our own thorn in the flesh, we are not powerless, because we have Christ on our side. Just like Christ rebuked the wind and the sea, He tells us 'Hush, be still' That He is with us and will give us the peace and comfort to be able to get through this world's thorn in the flesh and our own thorn in the flesh.

Christ said; "Why are you afraid? Do you still have not faith?" So we need not to be afraid but have faith in Him.

Shalom
