The Nail-Pierced Hands
“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;”
(Colossians 2:14)
“And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him…”
(Luke 23:33)
“The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
(John 20:25)
Those nail-pierced hands had reached forth and touched the sick, the diseased, and even the dead, and all were made whole. On Calvary’s mountain, nails were driven through those hands. It seemed He would never heal another sick person. He would never touch and change another life. It seemed like His hands were stilled forever.
But something happened on the third day. This Man from Galilee could not be kept in the grave. The same healing and deliverance power that He used He is investing today in people around the world. Jesus said, “…He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12). He sent the Holy Spirit to fill us, to empower us, to transform us.
Since the day of the Cross, Jesus’ hands have reached out and touched countless millions and He will continue to do so. May He touch us today! We will never be the same!
