My Bible Verse of The Day - 3-25-25

Psalm 20:6 (NKJV) 6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand.

Now I know. With those three words, David is making a statement of faith.

How many know today how God takes care of His people?

How many of us have seen Him move powerfully in our personal lives?

We have seen some things in our own lives that are so powerful, it brings great awe to us even today as we speak of them.

One night, as we were both in a sound sleep, He touched our lips at the exact same time.

When this happened, we both woke up and said, “did you feel that?” We explained to each other the exact same thing and the way it felt when He touched us.

We were in awe. We didn’t fully understand what it meant at that moment, but we were at peace about it as we drifted off to sleep again.

In the morning, we brought it up again and discussed it further.

The same thing; the same touch and the same sensation we had when it touched our lips.

It would be many years before we began to understand what He had done, and why He did it.

Time after time He has shown us His hand in our walk and in our call. We just stand in awe and give Him praise again and again. He is faithful!

We know beyond any doubt that He saves.

He will answer us from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. This applies to anyone who will trust Him and call out to Him.

We encourage you today to call out to Him. Draw near to Him.

He will answer you in the night, in the middle of the day, or in the evening! Amen.

My Bible Verse of The Day - 3-24-25

Philippians 2:12 (NKJV) 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

Some people may read this verse and misinterpret it as meaning that we should live our lives in fear of God removing His salvation from us if we make one too many mistakes.

But this is not a correct assumption.

Yes, we need to make every effort to live our lives in a righteous manner that brings glory and honor to God. We should resist the devil and the temptations we encounter.

God’s word is very plain and direct about this. Our life is, after all, about bringing glory and honor to God in all we do.

But that does not mean that we live lives of dread, afraid of God smacking us down and turning His back on us.

At its foundation, this verse means that we are the ones responsible for our own walk with God.

We must be the ones who make the choices that please Him and represent Him well. And we must be the ones who put forth the effort to draw ever closer to Him.

No one can do this for us.

A pastor cannot do it for us.

A spouse cannot do it for us.

A priest cannot do it for us.

A bishop cannot do it for us.

Just as we must diligently work at a job, we must also diligently work at our salvation.

No, this does not earn us a place in heaven. Salvation is not by works.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

But we must see the importance of what God has given us by His grace, through the sacrifice and the death of Christ, and treat it with the importance that it deserves.

Let us diligently and faithfully work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

My Bible Verse of The Day - 3-22-25

Matthew 13:54-55 (NKJV) 54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? 55 Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?

We must let God speak to our spirit and take us deeper than what our natural mind knows, to fully understand certain things. To be able to walk in faith completely.

We may think that we know things about a situation or person. But sometimes we may miss things that we don’t know about them if we rely totally on our own understanding.

This is a moment in the verses above that they should have allowed God take them beyond their natural understanding.

Logic can surely get in our way at times, causing us to miss out on God’s mighty work.

Matthew 13:58 (NKJV) 58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Jesus could not do many things in His hometown because of the unbelief of the people there. They had too much logical understanding and didn’t give Spirit-led answers a place.

Why?

Because they knew where He lived, and who His mother, brothers, etc. were. They could not get the fact that He was the Messiah.

They lived in unbelief because of logic.

This is very sad. We must not let our logic get in the way of the Spirit of God showing us truth and giving us the answers we need at times.

Dear God in Heaven,

I’m so very sorry for getting in the way of Your answers for me. At times I thought I knew better just because I had some logical understanding of the situation, person, etc. Please forgive me and help me to get better at this. Show me how to put my logic aside and allow you to take me deeper. Show me Your way. Give me Your answers and understanding. I will trust and believe You, for You are my God!

In Jesus Christ of Nazareth’s name I pray. Amen.

My Bible Verse of The Day - 3-21-25

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

This verse is one of the deepest scriptures in the entirety of God’s word.

Yes, it rivals the depth of, “in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

It rivals God forming Adam from the dust of the earth, and breathing life into him.

It rivals the 6 days of creation.

And it rivals about anything else we can think of in God’s word.

Consider this. God took on human form in Jesus. He came to earth. He dwelt among men. He taught His disciples truths that were too much for the human mind to comprehend.

And then He offered His (perfect) life as a sacrifice for our sins so that we would not have to pay the price that was the penalty for our sin.

And here is the deepest part; He made Him who knew no sin (Jesus) to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God through Him (Jesus).

We became righteous in God’s sight through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, by no act of our own, and by no power of our own, far outside of our human understanding.

Think about that. Really think about that!

We had nothing whatsoever to do with this entire act. And yet He offers it to us free of charge and paid in full because of His grace and mercy.

We do NOT deserve it. We can NOT earn it.

He gives it to us freely by simply trusting Him by faith.

Go ahead. Try to fully comprehend that by human understanding. It is NOT possible.

But it is true, nonetheless.

And this is where we see the power of the verses in Proverbs 3:5-6, when God tells us not to lean on our own understanding, but to acknowledge Him in all our ways.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

If you are in need of something to hold onto today, this is it.
