My Bible Verse of The Day - 4-27-24

Mark 16:15 (NKJV) 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

I am feeling grateful today.

It’s been 3 years since my dad passed.

He was such a great dad, it’s still hard for me to believe he is gone.

Since losing him, death has become very real to me. I never really spent any time thinking of it until his departure from this earth.

Perhaps there are others out there like me. It has become so real to you too.

We cannot know when our own time will come. But we do need to be ready.

It makes me wonder how many folks are not ready to go.

How many have never heard about Jesus and His saving grace? Or how many have, but have not really taken Him seriously? How many are just lukewarm and have never made a solid commitment?

Revelation 3:16 (NKJV) 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

It makes me realize how important our work here is as believers. I’m scared for people like this who don’t get their hearts right. Where will they spend eternity?

You see, I know my dad is home.

It brings me and the rest of my family great comfort when we know our loved ones are home, where we will also go when our time comes.

Some people just aren’t sure, and they need to be.

It makes me that much more willing to do what it takes to reach that one person. It’s so important that we are sure of our salvation and the salvation of those we love and care for.

The work we do is not about Pastors Curt and Ellie.

This is God’s work, to reach anyone who needs Christ. We are just vessels trying to get His truth to them.

Thank you for joining us. We are so very grateful for you.

Together, we will teach and share His love, and many will have a home in Heaven and spend eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ!

It brings us great JOY! Amen.

My Bible Verse of The Day - 4-26-24

Hebrews 11:30 (NKJV) 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.

Picture this; you are in the military, and you are told to conquer your enemy by silently marching around their walls for six days, and then yelling loudly on the seventh day.

Sounds far-fetched, right?

But that is exactly what God told the Israelites to do when they opposed Jericho.

This endeavor did not require extreme military might or precision for victory to come.

What did it require?

It required faith on the part of those who were instructed to do the marching.

And so it is with our own lives. We all face our own Jericho or our own Goliath.

Regardless of what it is, the odds seem stacked against us as our opponent looms large in our faces.

We can be opposed on personal levels in many ways and to varying degrees.

Some days, our faith is strong, and we feel like we can conquer anything we face.

Other days, we may feel weak and impotent, unable to swat and kill a small mosquito.

But this does not negate who God is and the faith that He has placed within each of us.

And faith is what it takes to please Him. Faith is required to walk the walk He has tasked us with walking.

So, we say to you today, hold onto hope, even when hope seems hard to find.

Press into God even when He seems terribly far away and silent.

Know that you are not here to simply exist and then quietly disappear. You have a purpose. And that purpose is to honor, serve and worship the God who created you.

So, let us do just that. Let us put him and keep Him in His rightful place in our lives, walking in the faith that He has sown into us.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

My Bible Verse of The Day - 4-25-24

Philippians 1:29 (NKJV) 29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake…

Suffering for Christ is something we must welcome and embrace; and that the life of faith isn’t always going to be easy.

Many times, we will suffer for Jesus’ sake. But no matter what we go through, He will always be right there with us.

Have you ever had to take a stand because you know that what others are trying to pressure you into is not right for you anymore? That’s your loyalty to Jesus coming out. That’s embracing your responsibility as a child of God now.

You love those who are dear to you, but you no longer fall for those things that you used to do with them; those things that were borderline and you knew it.

But receiving Christ as Your Lord, you now completely put those things behind you and take on your new life with Him.

Sacrifice comes in many forms. And we have all had our share. But, remember no matter how big or how small it is, it is well worth it, knowing that it is for Jesus’ sake.

He has, after all, done much for us.

Think of His life. He got very close to His disciples. He spent so much time with them.

Then, the day came, and He knew it was time to go through His crucifixion.

He not only knew He would suffer, but also that He would have to leave behind those He spent day and night with for 3 years.

He taught them, ate with them, ministered to them. They were His friends. He saw them laugh, He saw them cry. He saw them grow and change into the men God was making them.

John 11:35 (NKJV) 35 Jesus wept.

Jesus had His share of pain and sorrow here on earth; more than we can ever imagine. His sacrifice for us was deep.

Can we find it in our hearts to do the same for Him?

My Bible Verse of The Day - 4-24-24

Exodus 3:10 (NKJV) 10 Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

Noah, build an ark.

Abraham, leave your country.

Moses, tell pharaoh to let My people go.

Jonah, go to Nineveh and preach repentance.

David, go slay Goliath, the giant.

Peter, leave your fishing nets, follow me, and I will make you a fisher of men

Saul, stop persecuting Me. You are now Paul. Bring my message to the Gentiles.

As we spend time in God’s word, and we learn about the people listed above that God has called and used over the centuries, we will begin to see a common thread that runs through their lives; their lives belonged to Him. They were not their own.

And as we learn this, we should begin to see that this is the case for each of us as well; we are not our own.

Yet, despite this, we get inundated with feel-good messages that claim God wants us to live lives of grandeur, overflowing with abundant blessings, wild popularity, and everything we desire.

Most of this is based on the perversion of a small, select handful of scriptures, which gives it the appearance of legitimacy if we fail to do our homework and find the truth ourselves.

These teachings would lead the uninformed to believe that following God is a cake walk that is centered on us and does not incur a cost.

But look at that list of people above and what God told each of them.

Doing so demonstrates clearly that their loyalty to God cost them everything they had.

This does not mean they were poor, or that they lacked what they needed in life. But there was a human cost; a toll on each of their lives.

Now, this is not to say that each of us must follow the same paths as these people.

But we must take note of what Jesus told us is required to follow Him.

Luke 9:23 (NKJV) 23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

When I hear many of the teachings mentioned above, it is difficult to find one mention of denying ourselves. It is even more difficult to hear a single mention of picking up our cross.

That surely speaks volumes about what is at the core of their messages; self.

Let us run far from these kinds of teachings, sticking like glue to the truth of God’s word and to God Himself, denying ourselves when he asks us to do so and carrying our cross toward the finish line.

My Bible Verse of The Day - 4-23-24

Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her.

Love is a beautiful thing.

My husband and I have been through 41 years together, with some ups and downs along the way. Some very hard times and some very good ones.

But through it all, our love for each other has grown stronger and we have become more “one” as we have walked them out together.

I have learned that marriage is not about the men carrying everything; all the heavy burdens.

The load of a good marriage alone is tremendous, and the heaviness of caring for and nurturing a family is beyond what he can do alone.

I’ve learned throughout the years that when we work together, we are strongest. Between us and God, we will make it through the toughest times.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NKJV) 12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Men, husbands, get tired too. They have their weaknesses, just like all of us.

They need a helper. They need to be loved back and they need to be told now and then how good of a man they really are.

Genesis 2:20-22 (NKJV) 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.

Men, love your wives.

If all you can do at times is love them, continue to do that.

Sometimes that is all it takes for both of you to get through tough times; to love each other, encourage each other, speak words of victory.

Don’t criticize or blame each other for being in the situation that you may be in.

No, together you are there. And together you will come out!

Together you will have learned and grown closer than ever, making your relationship that much better.

After 41 years, I am more in love with this man than I was the first day I saw him.

He is my best friend. He knows me better than anyone knows me. He holds me and cares for me. His love for me resembles Christ’s love. I couldn’t have asked for a better husband than the one God blessed me with for all these years!

Husbands, love your wives. God will bless you for your sincerity, your commitment, and your diligence!
