Today’s promise is Psalms 119:73 – Your open hand (indicating power, means and direction) made me; you fashioned me. Now give me the understanding to follow your commands.
There are two kinds of hands: open and closed. You were made with an open hand which indicated power to accomplish, the means to do something and the direction of something made. He fashioned you. He took time and attention to make you into the design in his mind. He was intentional when he made you. Even having to exist in a sinful world and sometimes experience things outside his original design, he is still Lord over his creation – you. Now, your prayer should be, no matter in what condition you find yourself, “give me the understanding to follow the direction that your hands originally desired when you made me”.
Trust today that he will answer this prayer.
