Second Amendment (along with other Bill of Rights) was added to the new Federal Constitution to seek to preserve the gun and States’ Rights and liberties found in the Articles of Confederation of the Founding Fathers, reading thus: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
