I realize that I will need to keep a Facebook account because all my friends won't switch. BUT I'm locked out again. Sent the following to security@facebookmail.com in hopes that it will prod them a little.
Dear Facebook;
I have told you people before and I'll tell you again, I use a VPN and other measures to protect my security and privacy including a 17 character password that is unlikely to be cracked. The VPN will sometimes (often) make it look like I am logging in from somewhere else plus we do travel and actually log in from other places. Whenever this happens you people lock me out. It is getting rather iritating (translation: It is pissing me off!)
I understand why you don't want people hacking in to you users' accounts and getting for free the data that you sell access to for a profit. I just wish you were sincere in your protestations of concern for us. The choices presented to confirm a user's identity mostly don't work for me; 1. I don't have another computer to log in from; 2. I WILL NOT impose on my friends to bail me out; Etc. There are other ways you could accomplish the same thing without making it such a chore.
Now, it has been going on 2 days, unlock me.
Sincerely;
About Fed Up
