Mothers, the good that your child will do in their life, depends greatly upon what you believe about God’s calling in your life. - Pastor Kris Minefee

For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

Samson The Catalyst

The Lord told Samson’s mother that this child would begin to deliver Israel.

What Samson began against the powerful Philistine nation, Samuel and Saul would continue and David would finally finish. But God’s plan for that deliverance began with Samson’s mother.

After 40 years of oppression, near slavery, a man yet unborn would rise to do great things for God and for the people of God, despite his own personal weaknesses and flaws.

What a great inspiration for this mother to have all the days she is raising her child. It would keep her going through illness and difficulty. It would inspire her when times were the most difficult and dark. It would strengthen her when she was at her weakest and most vulnerable.

She knew that this child was a gift from God and he will change their world and help their people.

Can One Child change the world?

We all know that the answer is yes. Most of the world’s greatest changes have been brought about by just one man, most for evil but many for great good.

Hitler nearly destroyed a world and was responsible for the death of millions upon millions of people. Jews through the holocaust and millions of others through World War II.

One man started WWI with an assassination of a King.

One man named Darwin invented the theory of evolution giving mankind a scientific way to deny God and much of today’s education, science and life has been shaped by that false belief system.

One perverted man named Kinsey, wrote a book on sex that seemed to legitamize any perversion as normal. He is responsible for the modern day Sexual Revolution and all the pain, suffering and perversion that has come with it.

But also remember, that Noah, believed God and humanity was saved, that Abraham believed God and the nation of Israel was born. Joseph remained faithful and his nation was saved from starvation.

And above all others one man whose birth was also foretold by an angel to his mother, came into this sinful world, born of a virgin and died on the cross. One man who changed not just the religious world but history and even eternity. One man named Jesus born into this world by the most famous and blessed of all women Mary.

Luke 1:28-33 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Mothers, grandmothers, parents God has chosen you to raise your children and you also must keep before your eyes and heart the significance of that truth. God has chosen you, and He can and will use your child to do good, perhaps even great things. Children are like pebbles thrown into the pond of life and the ripples they send out affect that life.

You should believe that they have the potential to change this world for the better and for the cause of Christ. It may not be in a way that history will record but they will change it, for better or for worse they will change the world, just by being in it. The good that they do will very much depend upon what you believe about God’s calling in your life as a mother and parent.
