Christmas List
1) Slow down
2) Prepare your heart for His arrival
It’s December 10, and Christmas is 15 days away. The earthly distractions are so numerous, especially in 2020, but it all starts to fade a bit as I begin to crave the peace of Christmas. I know that it’s just a date on a calendar, and I know that I can have the peace of Christ with me every day, but for some reason, I feel more at home with our heavenly Dad this month. I look forward to feeling the love and sense of belonging that goes along with recognizing the humbling gift of Jesus. He left heaven, He chose to live with us, He chose to die for us, and he did it because He wanted to live eternally with (put your name here). He didn’t want to go another day without knowing that (your name) would be with Him forever. And He did it by sharing in our human experiences, eating the things we eat, feeling the things we feel, seeing the colors we see and walking in the physical body that we walk in every day. We can talk with Him about the normal, mundane experiences of our day, share a frosty fog with Him, ask Him what He liked to eat, ask Him what a cold day in Jerusalem felt like ... and He will answer us, now and in heaven, as we build our relationship with Him and settle into an intimate rhythm with Him. With each year that passes, I feel more and more like I’m truly at home.

I am in Pioneer, OH, in a tent. I’m much more of a Florida guy, but my son is in scouts, so here we are. I was not looking forward to this, at all, but then I looked at the stars ... He did good.
If you are having trouble sleeping tonight, the Leonid meteor shower is upon us. The later it gets, the heavier it gets, peaking at around 5:30am. A few have already been visible.
Goodnight.
