The Apostle Paul once wrote to his co worker Timothy, "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--of whom I am the worst." This statement is of course recorded in The 1st letter which Paul wrote to one whom he not only called a companion, but also a 'Dear Brother in The Lord"
The actual statement Paul wrote is known to us as a Bible Verse that is recorded as 1 Timothy 1:15. It is a great verse--except I happen to disagree with Paul. The Bible verse should read 'Christ Jesus came to save sinners, of which Tom Wise is the worst!" Yes...that would be most accurate.
Okay, maybe this is not how Paul wrote it, but it is most certainly how I feel about it. Because I know me! I know that I am that Tax Collector that Jesus talks about in Luke chapter 18---who is begging for mercy. And then---here comes Jesus who will send me home...justified before His Father God. Here comes Jesus, who in spite of everything I have done, and not deserving a single ounce of justification, sanctification, or mercy...Here He comes...and tell me..."I am willing. Be Healed. Be Cleaned. Be SAVED!" And perhaps the most undeserving possible thing the Man with the holes on His Head, and on His Hands, and in His Feet...is going to say to me will be..."What make you think you have sinned? I have looked east--and I have look west. I do not see any sin within you. All I see is the blood--for which I gave you a Blood bath with. Hey, come into my House, Tom. I am telling you are a good and faithful guy---and I made a home....just for you."
How can I ignore this? How can ANYBODY ignore this???
Here I am to worship.
