Senegalese Alien Arrested After Stabbing Street Cleaner in Spain

A Senegalese migrant has been arrested in the Spanish town of Cambrils after allegedly stabbing a 47-year-old street cleaner in the head and chest, reportedly because he was annoyed by the noise from a leaf blower. The incident took place shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Monday along Diputació Avenue. According to sources from the Local Police of Cambrils, the victim, a worker contracted by the cleaning company Secomsa, was operating a blower outside the Apartaments Internacional building when the assailant confronted him. As reported by Diari de Tarragona, the situation escalated into a violent assault in which the worker was stabbed multiple times. Witnesses say the attacker, who was seen leaving the apartment complex moments before, reacted aggressively after voicing his annoyance at the noise.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) approved a new mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine from Moderna over the weekend, further dashing hopes that a new administration would close the book on the controversial shots.

The new vaccine, mNEXSPIKE, is approved for “active immunization to prevent coronavirus disease 2019,” to be taken by “individuals who have been previously vaccinated with any COVID-19 vaccine and are: 65 years and older, or 12 through 64 with at least one underlying condition that puts them at high risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19,” according to the FDA.

A patient packaging insert will notify users of the potential for myocarditis or pericarditis, the odds of which it puts at “approximately 8 cases per million doses in people 6 months through 64 years of age and approximately 25 cases per million doses in males 12 years through 25 years of age”; and says generally subsides “a few days after receiving treatment with medicines used to reduce inflammation.”

On Friday the NY Times published a report highlighting the Trump administration’s increasing use of software from data analysis firm Palantir, which has been deployed across at least four federal agencies for the stated purpose of increasing operational efficiency through data modernization. For now, each deployment of Palantir software is focused on department-specific services, but the fact that they’re now embedded across multiple agencies – combined with Trump’s March executive order calling for the federal government to share data across agencies – has raised concerns over whether the US government is laying the groundwork for what could become an interconnected and unified surveillance apparatus created by a company which has been in business with the government since 2008. According to the report, since Donald Trump took office Palantir has received over $113 million in government spending – which doesn’t include a $795 million contract from the Department of Defense (DoD) awarded last week. According to the Times report (citing six alleged government officials and Palantir employees), the company is also in discussions with the Social Security Administration and the Internal Revenue Service (the latter of which contracted with Palantir during the Biden administration).

Integration Minister Mats Persson (Liberal Party) said on Thursday that an “expert group” was being assembled to obtain “an overview of Islamist infiltration in Sweden.” He added that like France, Sweden faces challenges “regarding integration and countering parallel societal structures that challenge liberal democracy.”

Swedish scholar Magnus Ranstorp praised this as “a very important initiative,” adding that those who have tried “for decades” to highlight the risks of rising Islamism have often done so “against the odds.”

Sunday update 9:20pm: According to Fox news reporter Bill Melugin, three DHS sources said that the Boulder terror suspect is an Egyptian national in the U.S. illegally as a visa overstay who entered the U.S. during the Biden administration.

According to the report, Mohamed Sabry Soliman arrived at LAX on 8/27/22 on a B1/B2 nonimmigrant visa with an authorized stay through 2/26/23, but he overstayed & never left.

Then, on 9/29/22, he filed some sort of claim with USCIS, potentially an asylum claim, and on 3/29/23, USCIS under the Biden admin gave him work authorization, which expired on 3/28/25.
