Solving Hong Kong: an open letter to President Trump
(Or Where did you go, Joe Dimaggio?)
Dear Mr. President,
As we are encompassed about by so many in the "deep state" as well as a significant group of elites who believe collectivism is the highest human virtue;
and Where As most of the American people are just not there yet as far as embracing this new age of enlightenment:
I propose that, by executive proclamation, you elevate each and every deep state operative and leftist to the status of being a Major League Baseball Player. This is commensurate with their thinking on how, by government action, you can change any reality about the human condition just by making an executive order, including gender, legal status and even the thoughts and intents of the human heart.
After this proclamation, by all means enter into trade talks with China immediately! Not about the exchange of goods and services. But of trading Bernie, AOC, Kamala and their cohorts, as well as the viewership of CNN and MSNBC for the freedom loving residence of Hong Kong, who adore our country and flag. Yes they do! Just as much as the previously mentioned group loves the communist's banner. I know we can find homes for these persecuted residents. If we start with Bernie's houses and yacht, well that should be five of six families there! Besides who wouldn't want to adopt a Tiger Mom's kid? Gladly would many American parents make this exchange to replace their 30 year old Social Justice Warrior living in the basement! And these kids are very intelligent! They may not get into Harvard, but when they get a job they will pay off their student loans. Our prospective new citizens are examples of the highest standard of behavior. Even protesting the clampdown by their communist rulers, they do not wear a mask! There is no need to be incognito when you are really standing up for freedom!
It would be a win-win! We can only expect Bernie, AOC, Kamala's and the rest of the Democratic presidential field to have unprecedented success as they participate in the People's Republic of China's electoral process! ANTIFA will fit right in with the police of the police state. Imagine Chris Cuomo on China's State Run TV! It would be a match made, er, in heaven?
Meanwhile we will receive millions of American flag waving people! They will actually appreciate and thrive in the Land of the Free instead of whine, kick, fuss and call everyone who is successful a dirty name! They will be of great assistance in Making America Great Again, instead of those on the left that want to make us the United Socialists of North America.

Obadiah's Cave: “He who overcomes!”
“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches.” (Revelation of John 3:19-22)
I don’t have to tell anyone who has been reading my blog that the Church in America resembles the Laodicean fellowship addressed by Jesus in Revelations 3. There is a clear diagnosis of and treatment plan for their condition! But even more astounding and demonstrating the grace of God is the reward to those who overcome. Today I want to examine this and draw from the Scriptures the great consolation contained therein.
There is great blessing to those who respond to His chastening with a broken and contrite heart! But do we have any specific word on how to respond? The Bible has sound instruction as always. The writer of Hebrews states: “Lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” (Hebrews 12:12-14) In essence, we are directed to “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”(James 4:1 in another section of Scripture that tells us specifically how to repent.
Back in Revelations 3, there are two great promises presented to us for going through this process. First, we will experience fellowship with Jesus Christ! This portents a greater intimacy in this life with perhaps a hint of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. In a culture in which there is so much leisure time, affluence and experiences for the soul, like America, there is a great reward for those who choose to exercise themselves unto godliness with their “free time.”
Look at the next prospect: “To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” (Revelations 3:31). This is in sharp contrast to everyone else using their freedom for self indulgence and rebellion! They sense God’s call, but instead head for the Valley of Decision to war with Jesus (Joel 3:14). We are having such a taste of this these days from a media and left leaning elites who object to the authority the Word of God! The overcomer is and will continue to be a target for this animosity because they are being conformed to the image of Jesus in the midst of a Christ hating world. And like Christ they will sit with Him in heavenly places, in part on Earth, and completely in Heaven. Being wed to the Lord makes us One and our seat will be next to His!
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (I John 5:4-5) Indeed in a culture of unprecedented freedom and affluence, make no mistake! We are called to overcome the world by our faith in Jesus Christ. While most will choose to use their freedom to indulge themselves instead of embracing God’s discipline, these promises by Christ are for those willing to embrace His discipline, His Son and the Gospel in the wake of the multitudes waring with us and Him on their way into the Valley of Decision.

Obadiah’s Cave: The Left IS “Woke.”
“Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.”(Joel 3:12)
Humanity is fully engaged in one of two directions. One very small group is responding to the call of Jesus Christ. As Paul has written: “Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.”(Ephesians 5:14) The response is not simply that of intellectual assent but extrudes a lifetime of informed obedience: “Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there be that find it.”(Matthew 7:13-14) The calling and the grace to obey is a work of God’s sovereign grace. He calls and He empowers. We simply “wake up” to our Lord’s methodology and His disposition of Love! Truly, He does not want any to perish. Even a reprehensible sinner like myself can be called to repentance!
Then there is another, rather large body of people. They are equally awakened to the call of God. Even in the throes of unimaginable wickedness, as outlined in Isaiah Chapter 1, the call is clear to them. To a people whom God says: “Why should you be stricken any more? you will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.” (Isaiah 1:5) He also invites: “Come now, and let us reason together, said the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” (Isaiah 1:18). Yet in this group the offer of regeneration is refused, not with a “No, not now” attitude that wants a few more days of self indulgence, but a “Hell no, I won’t go” that turns the heart against their Creator, rejects His blessings and a life in eternity with Him. Being on the road to perdition, they understand their plight fully! “And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth: And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.” (Isaiah 22:12-13) So sold to sin and at war with God, in the face of His judgment they will yearn for their “safe space.” “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:” (Revelation of John 6:16)
You who are on the left gladly quote Scripture to forward your evil agenda! Like everything else you assume the power to even manipulate God's Word! Yet discerning Christians are not fooled. Jesus Christ is certainly not. You are “woke” and shouting “No” to the Lord just as the prophet Joel anticipated many ages ago in the Scripture reference above! What you do not understand is that the The Lord, Himself, has awakened you! Your marching cadence of “abortion rights”, LGBTQ, Communism, Statism with the plethora of idols will guide you into the valley of decision. Even as you advance to your own destruction, His hand is extended to you and pleading, “Let us reason together...” Hear the call and for your own sake let God’s sovereign grace change your direction!

Obadiah’s Cave: What stops the Left’s Music?
“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up. Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.” (Daniel 3:17-19)
Right now we are witnessing the intense anger of those who have the idol of State in their heart. Indeed whenever we do not dance to their tune of political correctness, their angst know no bounds! Like Zeus, they toss thunderbolts from their cable news Olympus when anyone dares to not bow down to their diety. Satan is still the “prince of the power of the air.” Many of the cable news networks are his seat of power.
Jesus, Himself, was subject to the same indignity. “He that has ears to hear, let him hear. But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like to children sitting in the markets, and calling to their fellows, And saying, We have piped to you, and you have not danced; we have mourned to you, and you have not lamented.” (Matthew 11:15-17) He was slandered and misquoted in a never ending attempt by the powers that be to discredit Him. Yes, political manipulation of the news has been around long before George Orwell identified it. It has always been the Modus Operandi of the same clique that sent Jesus Christ to the Cross.
What stops the music? Our job is to resist the evil and not to bow down. To the elites that demand worship, this stops the festivities in that they need execute those responsible to interrupting orchestrated “March of the Lemmings into Hell.” There must be boldness for those who proclaim the truth and uncover the violation of God’s law for all to see. There also needs to be a conviction that holds truth more dear than life. What stops the music, however, is the advent of the active agency of God. He shows up! With His appearance, the fire’s power to destroy is annulled and the ruler’s narcissistic nature is arrested. The same king Nebuchadnezzar went from praising his idol to praising God. In Daniel Chapter Four he is thoroughly humbled and converted after a period in which he simply lost his mind.
Is the left losing it’s mind? They certainly are. Humility is just over the horizon as the LORD will be true to His promise of intervention. So we all petitioned for this yesterday. Of course the fire is going to be heated up even more by the godless devotees to their own power. Presumed godhood does not just surrender! However, all this does is make the survival and thriving of the righteous a more compelling miracle. Jesus Christ is able to save even as the idol of State burns up its own minions.
