I highly recommend a product called Gold Shield for hand sanitizing. It is a hand sanitizer that lasts up to 8 hand washes and once it is dry on the hands (about 30 seconds) won't come off in the mouth (so okay for young children).
The product, which creates a protective surface on the hands that continues to kill microbes whenever you come into contact with them, was developed at Emory University, has been around for years, and has been fully researched. It is more expensive, but you only use it once or twice a day, so it lasts for ages longer than standard alcohol sanitizers.
