About Connie
In the late 90's, Connie became homeless due to several severe mental health disorders which had been unrecognized and untreated for many years. Connie was unable to maintain employment due to the severity of her initial breakdown and extended hospitalizations. Connie has become a passionate educator to help raise awareness about the importance of mental health care and is on a mission to help break the stigma associated with the need for psychiatric evaluation and services.
Connie has now stabilized her life through mental health education, the use of community resources, SSDI, and medical treatment for mental illness. Although her faith in God was severely challenged by her harsh life circumstances, Connie has found new hope and understanding about the complexities that led her to homelessness.
Though her faith took a beating, Connie’s trust in her God has become the foundation of her life mission to provide hope, comfort, and education for others who are still floundering in harsh life circumstances, including a shattered and battered faith.
