Paraphrased from C.S. Lewis:
"Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be. And if you've taken a wrong turn, then to keep going forward doesn't get you any nearer to where you want to be. If you're on the wrong road, progress would mean doing an about face and walking back to the right road. In that case, the the man who turns back soonest is the man who will make the most progress. There is nothing progressive about being pigheaded and refusing to admit a mistake. And, I think if you look at the present state of the nation today it's clear that we've made some big mistakes and we're on the wrong road. If that's true, we need go back. Going back is the quickest way to go on."
