Song Title: The Mirror
Genre: Indie (Christian)
When we leave this world, the remnants of our existence will be carried by those whom our lives have touched. It's these individuals who remember us. But will they remember the real us? From the moment we begin interacting with the world, preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, and up, we find ourselves in situations that make us want to fit in. To do that, we often have to adjust, to become more likable, cooler, tougher, more appealing. It's an ongoing process that continues throughout our lives. We're one way when we're alone, and another way with family, and yet another way with friends, and with coworkers, even when we're among strangers. We wear many masks by the time we make our way out into the world. So when the people we interacted with remember us after our passing, who do they really remember, who we really are, or one of our many masks? If it's our masks, the'll remember a lie. Meanwhile, who we really are will go into the ground with our discarded flesh. Forgotten forever because that side of us never came out from behind our facades.
