Heard one preacher say that the veil of the temple was torn so that we might enter into the Holy of Holies. Another preacher said the veil was torn so that the Holy Spirit might be released. I would not argue against either point. Let me share what I feel God showed me. The veil was rent from the top to the bottom. Hebrews says the veil was His flesh. When two parties entered covenant they took an animal and they cut the animal lengthwise from the head to the tail. The picture is a picture of cutting of the covenant animal, so the renting of the veil was the tearing of Christ flesh as part of the covenant. We may now enter into this covenant by faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross and by virtue of being in Christ.
Dear Father, we come to you this morning as your child. We confess that in our own strength and abilities there is nothing we can do. There are situations in life that need to change and we are powerless to fix them so we come to You, the only wise, all powerful God who is also our Father. Lord, whatever we are facing today You are our sufficiency. For that one that is facing an impossible situation give them grace today. There are those who are facing a Goliath of fear. Give the boldness and confidence in You to confront that giant knowing that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind. Lord, there is nothing too difficult for you. Lord, there are those who have resigned themselves to a life of misery and have lost hope. Give them hope today. Father for You are the God of hope, the God of all comfort. Arise, O Lord, and scatter our enemies. We pray that even this day will be a day of encouragement and breakthrough. Lord, You are good. You are compassionate. Your mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. We will praise You this day for what You will do. Where else can we go but unto You? We pray this prayer believing for ourselves and our friends knowing You hear our petitions and You are attentive to the cry of Your children. We pray believing in the name above all names, Jesus the Christ, amen.
You have postponed a major decision because of fear. You have been afraid to let go because you worry about not having enough. The tyranny of the familiar often holds one captive because it feels safe. Holding on to something beyond its season can cause you to miss the new season. There is a new season awaiting you but it will require you break free of the familiar and step out of your comfort zone. The familiar can become a ceiling that keeps you from blessing. You, looking in the natural see loss, but God is removing the ceiling so He can bless you. When you make your move you will find a freedom that will open new horizons in this new season. It will be good.
