Fathers,

do not provoke your children to wrath.

obey your parents in the Lord,

"Honor your father and mother,"

which is the first commandment with promise:

"that it may be well with you

and you may live long on the earth."

And you, fathers,

do not provoke your children to wrath,

but bring them up

in the training and admonition

of the Lord.'

Hi Everybody

The father shall make known Your truth

to the children.

King Hezekiah speaking in Isaiah 38:19



"Only take heed to yourself,

and diligently keep yourself,

lest you forget the things your eyes have seen,

and lest they depart from your heart

all the days of your life.

and teach them to your children and grandchildren."

Moses speaking in Deuteronomy 4:9



"And these words which I command you today

shall be in your heart;

you shall teach them diligently to your children,

and shall talk of them

when you sit in your house,

when you walk by the way,

when you lie down, and when you rise up."

Deuteronomy 6:6,7ff



'We will not hid them from their children,

Telling the generation to come the praises of the LORD,

and His strength and His wonderful works

that He has done.'

Asaph contemplating in Psalm 78:4



My mother made sure we all went to Sunday School.

Sometimes there was a morning church service.

She arose from her comfortable feather bed

and made sure we were ready -

even if she did grumble!

to the children.



"Remember the law of Moses, My servant,

Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel,

With the statutes and judgments.

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet

Before the coming of the great and dreadful

day of the LORD.



And he will turn the hearts of the fathers

to the children,



And the hearts of the children to the fathers,

Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse."
