This morning, as I reflect on the events that have transpired this week, I’m thinking about my WWII, Navy veteran dad, who on occasion, would fly the USA flag upside down.

I didn’t understand why he was so angered by the actions made from DC at various times, but given the events of this week, I sure do now! He came from a family of 18 children who were raised during the depression. Five of those children joined the military. Four of them fought in WWII to preserve our freedoms. They are all gone now but the “FAITH OF OUR FATHERS” and the ideals they taught their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren steadfastly remain.

Faith of our fathers, living still
In spite of dungeon, fire and sword,
O how our hearts beat high with joy
Whene’er we hear that glorious word!
Faith of our fathers! holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might! Ephesians 6:10

John 16:33 (KJV) - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

I love the number 17 and what that number Biblically represents - preservation in the midst of judgment, overcoming the enemy and complete victory!

Definition from the Bible Study Organization:

In the Bible the number 17 symbolizes "overcoming the enemy" and "complete victory." God overcame the sins of rebellious humans when he began to flood the earth through rain on the 17th of the second Hebrew month. Noah's ark and its eight passengers rested on the mountains of Ararat on the 17th of the seventh month (right in the middle of God's annual Holy period known as the Feast of Tabernacles).

Jesus Christ gained a complete victory over death and the grave when God resurrected him near sunset on Nisan 17 (Saturday, April 8, 30 A.D.).

In the book of 1Corinthians the thirteenth chapter, the seventeenth mention of the word 'love' comes when the apostle Paul states that it is the greatest gift of all (1Corinthians 13:13). God's unending love (John 3:16) is truly victorious over all things. Those who stay faithful to God to the end of their lives will gain the victory over the grave when they are miraculously brought back to life (see 1Corinthians 15).

TILL THE STORM PASSES BY

Good morning to all! I haven’t posted for a while because I was reviewing all options available due to the ongoing censorship on FB. I suspended my account on Tuesday after notifying all my friends and friends in name only of my intentions.

I’m deeply saddened that many ministries are still on FB mainly because of the livestreaming function. Many have made no backup plans to carry on their ministries should they be the next group censored. Equally troublesome is the CCP’s influence on FB decisions. We all know how persecuted the church is in China.

As we navigate the storm that is upon us, I’m reminded of a song my cousin and I used to sing. Here is the lyrics:
