Minnesota Democrats killed an amendment to a crime and public safety bill that would require law enforcement agencies to report illegal aliens to ICE when they are arrested for a violent crime, ignoring the pleas of a man whose mother was brutally murdered and beheaded by an illegal alien. Charles Thayer, the son of America Thayer, testified in favor of the amendment last month in the State House. He told lawmakers the harrowing story of how his mother was abused, nearly lit on fire, and ultimately beheaded in Shakopee, Minnesota by a violent illegal alien, who had prior felony arrests and convictions. “He ended up beating her skull in with a blunt object and cut her head off at the neck in broad daylight, right in front of a busy intersection while she was still alive,” he told the legislators.
Elon Musk WARNS John Deere After They Did THIS… [8 minute read] (Español, 中文) ~ Posited by [YT *UNOMYApp]
[X *DMASHAK] SHORT SUMMARY (followed by commentary):
For nearly 200 years, John Deere has ruled the world of farming & Agricultural Production. Their big green machines are everywhere, helping farmers grow the food we all rely on. But lately, things haven’t been so smooth. John Deere, once the darling of Agriculture, designed their equipment so farmers were locked out of the software, and could not fix tractors & other John Deere Equipment themselves. Instead, now farmers were required to have John Deere Technicians come out to the location of the broken equipment to fix the equipment at exorbitant prices. (No more traditional Farmer DIY) Further, there was a long backlog of appointments before John Deere's employees could show up. This causes costly delays in planting and harvesting, both very time sensitive activities, which results in substantial losses to the Farmer. Ergo, Farmers are frustrated—stuck with expensive repairs, outdated tech, rising costs, & the loss of the Farmer, ‘Can Do,’ DIY tradition.
Then out of nowhere, Elon Musk steps in. The guy who took on the car industry with Tesla and launched rockets with SpaceX is now setting his sights on farming. Some say he’s here to take down John Deere. Others think he’s exactly what farmers need.
But here’s the twist—this isn’t just another business rivalry. What happens next is something no one saw coming. A shocking partnership, a global controversy, and a battle that could change farming forever. This is the real story of Elon Musk vs. John Deere.
[X *DMashak] CONNECTING THE DOTS!
BACK IN THE DAY, life in rural America included friendly, sometimes heated, discussions about colors. What’s the color of the best Dairy Cow? (Black & White) What’s the color of the Best Beef Cow? (White face, brown body, Polled Herefords) What’s the color of the best brand of Silo? (Cement Stave Grey, with silver trim, and, inevitably the debate would turn to the color of the best tractors? Red (IH), Blue (Ford), Persian Orange (Allis Chalmers), Yellow over Orange (Case), Meadow Green & White (Oliver), or Classic Green (John Deere). Regardless of what color of the best tractor these farmer debates rendered, John Deere's Big Green Machines always sold at a premium over other models of comparably equipped tractors, whether new, or at auction, used. Classic Green John Deere tractors were the “Cadillac” of tractors, and a symbol of success.
From 10 to 25 years old, I had a chance to drive them all. But the Big Green Machines always remained a status symbol.
At the same time, a large part of all farmers’ opinions of tractors revolves around, “How often they break down?”; “How difficult are the repairs?”; “How long does it take to repair?; The availability of parts, and “How much are the repairs going to cost?” For most brands of tractors, the breakdown rate was similar, repair parts were readily available, prices for parts were comparable, and the design of the tractors made repairs relatively quick and downtime was kept to a minimum.
The shortest downtime possible is very important, because planting and harvesting must happen quickly over very short time frames. And, if the farmer also does, "custom work", like combining corn, etc. for neighbors, the lost revenue can be thousands of dollars per day. It is important to remember the culture of farming is one of independence, rugged individualism and self-sufficiency. Not only does DIY fixing of equipment themselves save time and money, it is a source of pride for the farmer.
John Deere has failed to take these factors into account in making the decision to lock farmers out of the software, not allowing farmers to make DIY repairs themselves, forcing long costly downtimes on farmers while waiting for the JD Technician to show up, and then, a huge repair bill to make an onsite visit. John Deere, not only angered farmers with these new, unnecessary, longer repair times and huge repair bills, but also insulted these farmers pride in their independence, rugged individualism and self-sufficiency. John Deere made a huge error in solely relying on the advice of uppity, superior to the masses, Woke, arrogant Ivy League, City Slicker, DEI-Hire Bean Counters in making this decision based solely on maximizing profit. I predict an exodus to other tractor brands that design their tractors for quick, easy, lower cost, DIY self-repair by the farmers.
Next, I want to take a moment to help farmers, and other folks in Agriculture, understand more deeply what John Deere's (and most other US Big Businesses’) perspective, motivation & reasoning behind, and for, this betrayal of their formerly loyal Agricultural customer base......
