Here is a painting that I worked on in Dec. 2020 and Jan. 2021, in anticipation of the "swearing in" of the "46th President". It's ugly and funky, just like so many things about this time. But, I'm happy today, because I got a chance to paint some more!

The best way that I can describe the situation of the country to myself right now is that the population is the Senator's daughter in Silence of the Lambs and the Government/Media/Health Care Complex is Jame Gumb.

Decline of the West-Oswald Spengler
The Exegesis of Philip K. Dick-Phillip K. Dick
Moby Dick-Herman Melville

Decline of the West gives me some interesting perspectives on the possible "hows" and "whys" of it all. The Exegesis shows a man having God revealed to him. Moby Dick shows fascinating glimpses of a long forgotten world. These three books are definitely helping me feel sane in a world that seems to have gone insane.
